Ten years ago, we sat across from each other at a dining table in a small London flat, staring down a decision that felt both terrifying and thrilling: quit the traditional 9–5 and go all-in on working online. No backup plan. No safety net. Just two laptops, and a deep need to take control of our time.

For Kiren, it was a choice. The CEO of her last office-based role wanted to close the company and pursue other business ventures. However, not wanting to lose Kiren’s skillset, she offered her a virtual role on an ad hoc basis. The question Kiren was facing was, does she find other clients to fill in the gaps or find another office job? Answer… All in online. Endometriosis made office life unbearable, too. Starting her own online business gave her more than income; it gave her freedom. Since then, she’s raised the bar. She’s worked with blockchain innovators, holistic coaches, AI-driven real estate firms, and led projects that helped brands grow, pivot, and thrive.

Joe was driven by time. Stuck in the corporate grind, 8 to 6 in Canary Wharf, senior analyst title and all—but barely time to live. So, he left. And now? He’s helped professional athletes elevate their careers, consulted on solar energy projects in African communities, and played a leading role in organising The Unity Cup, an international football tournament. Real impact. Real freedom.
